Christine M. Smyer International Student Award

All matriculating students will receive a $1,000.00 award for their first quarter of enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria for continuing students:

• Each quarter the top ten international students with the highest cumulative GPA (minimum cumulative GPA requirement of 3.00) will receive a $1,000 award.
• Tuition must be paid by the posted deadline.
• The award will be available the second week of each quarter.

Award Criteria applies to all applicants starting July '07 and later; it is not necessary to complete an application to be considered for this award.

Private Loans for Canadian Students

There are private loans that are available for Canadian students. You must have a cosigner who is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to be eligible. Credit check is required in order for the loan to be approved. The interest rate is usually based on your cosigner’s credit history. There is no repayment while is school. There is a 6 months grace period before payment is due.

Sallie Mae offers an international student loan program which can cover up to your cost- of-education. They require that you have a U.S. cosigner who is a citizen or permanent resident. The interest rate is variable based on the prime rate and fees are based on credit history. Education Finance Partners

Education Finance Partners offers an international student loan program which can cover up to your cost-of-education. They require that you have a social security number and drivers’ license/state ID. A cosigner who is a citizen or permanent resident is required for this loan. The interest rate is variable based on the LIBOR rate and the borrower’s credit history. The website to apply is www.Educationfinancepartners.com/go/college and telephone number is 866-226-0740.

U.S. Bank

U.S.Bank offers an international student loan program which can cover up to the cost-of- education. They require that you have a social security number. A cosigner who is a citizen or permanent resident is required for this loan. The website is www.usbank.com/gapapp and telephone number is 800-242-1200.
