Graduate Student Living Off-Campus

*Student Budget $37,407

     Source of Aid: Subsidized Stafford Loan
     Loan Amount: $8,500 (1/3 rec'd each qtr)
     Amount After Lender Fees: $8,415

     Source of Aid: Unsubsidized Stafford Loan
     Loan Amount: $24,000 (1/3 rec'd each qtr)
     Amount After Lender Fees: $23,760

     Total Loan Amount: $33,000

     Total Amount Received, after fees: $32,175

 

If a student chooses to borrow up to the cost of attendance, after paying tuition he/she would have approximately $1,585.00 a month left over for living expenses and books and supplies per nine month period (three quarters).

*The maximum annual limit in the federal Stafford loan program is $33,000. The difference between the student budget and the federal loans is your unmet need. The unmet need could be satisfied by a federal work-study award, working off-campus or using the federal Grad Plus Loan program (credit based).
