FreeBooks4Doctors!

These titles represent a small portion of the total.  Available titles in anatomy and radiology titles are too numerous to include in the list below. The site has links to almost 400 books, categorized by over 100 topics, with information on impact, publication date, language, and rating (1-3 stars). The search feature does not effectively discover content within the books, probably because the books come from many different sources. Some of the listed e-book providers display content with unobtrusive advertising.

FAQs

Q:  What is an e-book?

A:  E-books are electronic versions of printed books that can be viewed online via the Internet.  Keyword searching is a typical feature.

Q:  What are the system requirements for viewing e-books?

A:  Since most e-books at Life West library are in PDF or HTML format, an Internet-connected computer with Adobe Acrobat and a large enough screen for reading is suitable.

Q:  There is no one e-book format that suits every device.  Companies that sell online books for downloading to individual buyers also sell proprietary e-book readers.

A:  Eventually this will change, due to the trend toward more standardized formats and the emergence of more flexible e-book readers and associated applications  for both desktop and mobile devices.

Q:  Can I search all e-books simultaneously?

A:  There is no method available at this time to search across all titles regardless of source.  Most e-book publishers feature an option to search in one book, a selection, or all of their books.
