Library : Loansome Doc

PubMed users can order delivery of full-text articles from a library of their choice.

Loansome Doc automates this process.  Free registration with participating libraries is required

How it works

Loansome Doc is a service the library provides in cooperation with the National Library of Medicine.
It works like this:

  • Register for free to become an authorized user.  See who can register at Life West.
  • Search for biomedical journal articles using PubMed @ LCCW
  • Checkmark the citations for which full-text is needed, pull-down the "Send to" menu, and select "Order".
  • Login to the service.
  • State the maximum cost per article you are willing to pay
  • State the deadline after which you no longer can accept delivery of the article
  • Check the box signifying your agreement with copyright.  This means that you cannot redistribute articles.  Any article sent to you by a library is for your personal research.
  • Loansome Doc system automatically routes requests to the library of your choice.
  • Library contacts you about payment, and delivers the full-text.
