CANOGA
PARK NATIVE RECEIVES CHIROPRACTIC AWARD
HAYWARD, Calif., February 18, 2003
Life Chiropractic College West student Ed Roberts
recently received the Student of the Year award from the (a national award)
Gonstead Clinical Studies Society.
As like recipients in the past, names
are submitted to the Gonstead Clinical Studies Society's board of directors
by
field doctors and/or school faculty who
closely work with the various chiropractic college Gonstead Clubs.
These awards
are given to the people who have over the course of at least a year, demonstrated
outstanding service to the profession for their commitment to the Gonstead
work. The students have generally served as President or
Vice President of the school's Gonstead Club. They have gone the extra
mile to study the Gonstead Technique to where they understand it well
enough to
teach
it to their fellow students. In addition, they have been instrumental in
assuring the success of visiting Gonstead doctors with workshops and
symposiums being
held on campus. This person is usually responsible for keeping in contact
with all Gonstead seminars throughout the world and for creating enthusiasm
among
fellow students to attend these seminars. Without fail, recipients of this
award, have gone on to become highly respected and successful chiropractors.
A high school
graduate of Faith Baptist Schools in Canoga Park, Roberts is the
son of Mr. & Mrs. George Roberts of Winnetka, CA. Roberts earned his B.S.
degree in mechanical engineering and his MBA from Pepperdine University.
Before
entering Life West, Roberts was employed for 11 years as a product design engineer
for the Rocketdyne Division of Boeing North America in Canoga Park.
Along with
his chiropractic studies and his clinical experience, Roberts has been
president of the college's Gonstead Technique Club for more than two-and-a-half
years.
