HALLOWEEN RETURNS TO “LIFE” Life West provides a Fun, Safe, and Free Place to Trick or Treat
HAYWARD, Calif., November 5, 2003

The halls and classrooms of Life Chiropractic College West (25001 Industrial Blvd., Hayward) were busy with more than 800 excited costume-clad children and their appreciative parents at the college's Halloween Returns to "Life", held on October 31. Halloween Returns to "Life" certainly filled the community need for children and their parents looking for a fun and safe venue to enjoy Halloween indoors-at no cost.

Along with local businesses and organizations, the Life West students and staff worked together in transforming classrooms into trick-or-treat rooms, where participating kids would visit and fill their bags with goodies. In addition, the trick-or-treaters took in party games, face painting, animal balloons, and refreshments-with their evening's adventure finishing with a trip through the Life West Haunted House. A number of kids also took advantage of having the candy they collected outside the campus X-rayed.

There was no doubt that the evening was a huge hit with the kids, but it also got an enormous thumbs-up from their parents. "So many parents mentioned how grateful they were for such a safe and fun Halloween alternate offered to their children," reported the event's coordinator, Life West Director of Community Outreach and Marketing Dr. Pat Hospy.

From 1994 to 1999, Life West's original Halloween celebration, Halloween Comes to "Life," was a huge hit with the local families when the event was held at the old college clinic in downtown Hayward. The high attendance clearly proved that the Life West Clinic was fulfilling a community need: a free, fun, and safe environment for local families to celebrate Halloween indoors. More than 1,000 kids and their families attended the last event in 1999. This year, Life West was very excited about bringing back this special event in its newer location on Industrial Blvd. (where the college moved in 2000). The college also looks forward to making Halloween Returns to "Life" a new annual tradition for its community.
