LIFEWEST HEALTH CENTER NAMES NEW DIRECTOR OF OUTREACH

The Life Chiropractic College West Health Center recently hired Shawn Henry Dill, D.C. as director of community outreach. Dr. Dill will serve as the Health Center 's liaison to the community by pursuing and maintaining numerous relationships with local businesses, government, non-profit organizations, and chambers of commerce. In this position, he will also instruct and assist student interns with their numerous community outreach and education programs. These student opportunities not only enhance the college's participation in its community, but also provides an outstanding learning experience for the students who will certainly use these skills when they become practicing chiropractors in their communities.

Recently returning from a nearly 10-year residence in Costa Rica , Dr. Dill brings a wealth of health-care management and community-outreach experience to his new position. He opened and directed four successful chiropractic clinics in Costa Rica . During this time, he also served as team chiropractor to four first-division soccer club teams and produced and hosted a daily health-related radio show on the country's highest rated talk-radio station.

Dr. Dill's education includes a bachelor's degree in biology and a doctor of chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield , MO. He also attended Indiana University in Bloomington , IN.

Providing health care for close to 1,600 patient visits a week, the 32,968-square-foot public Health Center is housed at the Life Chiropractic College West campus, located at 25001 Industrial Boulevard , Hayward . The Life West Health Center is operated by approximately 200 senior interns, who are guided by licensed doctors of chiropractic. The facility also employs more than 30 full-time and part-time administration staffers.

Life Chiropractic College West, established in 1976, is an accredited non-profit institution of higher learning offering the doctor of chiropractic degree through a four-academic-year program of academic study and clinical internship. The college currently enrolls close to 600 men and women from across the U.S. and abroad. More than 3,300 graduates of Life West are now practicing throughout the world. The college’s Public Health Center, operated by approximately 200 senior interns who are guided by licensed doctors of chiropractic, provides health care for more than 1,700 patient visits a week.
