Another Impressive Field At Life West Golf Classic
San Ramon, Calif., May 25, 2004

A filled golf course of participants from across the nation made up the field of the annual Life Chiropractic College West's Golf Classic, held on May 6. Continuing as Northern California 's largest chiropractic golf tournament, the Life West Golf Classic provided an exciting day of challenging golf and great fellowship at the scenic Bridges Golf Course.

Close to 100 golfers competed for trophies and prizes while raising money for the Life West Campus Building Fund. This year's tournament had moved to the beautiful 6,229-yard Johnny Miller designed course, located in the scenic Mount Diablo foothills in San Ramon , CA .

Following a full afternoon of golf, everyone enjoyed getting together to talk about their day on the links and catching up with each other. Many participants mentioned how impressed they were the new course and its amenities. Following dinner, golfers and guests enjoyed Life West President Dr. Gerard Clum's speech. Dr. Clum acknowledged many of the tournament's participants and sponsors. He then impressed the crowd with the latest updates of Life West's state-of-the-art technology enhancements, to its Health Center .

Ed-Invest of Hyannis , Massachusetts served as the tournament's Double Platinum Sponsor. The Silver Sponsors were Bank of the West; Foot Levelers, Inc.; and The Master's Circle, Inc. The Golf Classic's Bronze Sponsors were the OUM Chiropractor Program and Jenkins / Athens Insurance Services. Monetary sponsorships, prize donations, and gifts from 38 businesses and organizations also supported the tournament (see below for complete list).

Using a four-person “shamble” (modified scramble format), the Life West Golf Classic offered awards for the two top foursomes with the lowest-team-net scores. This special format also awarded trophies to first place and second place individual scores.

The first-place team trophy went to the foursome of Dr. Jim Musick, Ron Musick, Eri Crum, and Tom Crum. The individual awards went to Dan Peterson for first place and Dr. Tim Brown, who placed second.

Ruben Carrillo won the closest-to-the-hole prize on the 160-yard seventh hole. As hard as they tried, none of the contestants won the hole-in-one prize—a 2004 Eclipse Spyder GS, provided by Hayward Mitsubishi.

The trophy for the men's longest drive went to Fred Newnam, while Samantha Caballero was the women's longest-drive winner.
