Prospective Students : Admissions - New Students
Admissions Requirements
A completed application and application fee of $45.00, a brief essay (see back of application for details), two letters of recommendation (or only one if it is from a chiropractor), a formal admissions interview with a Life West faculty member, and official documentation of the following academic prerequisites:

- A minimum of 90 semester units or 135 quarter units of transferable college coursework.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. GPA will be calculated twice; once in the standard fashion and again using only the specified prerequisite courses below. Both calculations must meet the 2.5 minimum.
In February 2011, the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) announced new minimum grade point average standards for admittance into all accredited doctor of chiropractic programs effective on Jan. 1, 2014.
NOTE: Effective Winter 2014 Quarter – All Matriculants must furnish proof of having earned a minimum of 90 transferable semester / 135 quarter units at an institution or institutions accredited by a nationally recognized agency. Matriculants must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale on the 90 semester / 90 quarter units.
All Matriculants must have completed at least 24 semester / 36 quarter units of Life/ Physical Sciences with at least 50% having a significant laboratory component.

All Matriculants must furnish proof of having earned a minimum of 90 transferable semester/ 135 quarter units at an institution or institutions accredited by a nationally recognized agency.
All Matriculants must have earned a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 on a scale of 4.0 for both the prerequisite courses and the required 90-semester units.
All prerequisite classes must be passed with a minimum of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (usually a C grade).
No more than 20 semester units of the admission prerequisites can be the result of College Level Equivalency Program (CLEP) exams or through advanced placement. No science course units acquired in this manner will apply toward prerequisites.
