Counseling Department

LCCW has an Academic Counselor on campus to assist students in adapting to educational transition and the rigors of chiropractic college. The realities of being a chiropractic student can make it challenging to maintain one’s overall well-being. Academic counseling complements chiropractic, assisting student in optimizing their level of functioning. Students are encouraged to speak with the Academic Counselor about strategies for being well while engaged in the process of preparing themselves to be wellness-care providers.

These are some of the areas in which the Academic Counselor can assist students:

  • Learning stress management, relaxation
  • Developing organizational and study skills
  • Overcoming test anxiety
  • Enhancing awareness and sensitivity towards others
  • Making referrals to outside evaluators for in-depth evaluations or therapeutic intervention
  • Facilitating academic adjustments (accommodations) for students with disabilities
  • Facilitating the complaint resolution process
